Each row is DFO's own text, read live off the Area 23/123 page. Where a subarea is named, the number only applies in that subarea. Coastwide salmon rule: 4 per day, all species combined. Fish finfish other than salmon: possession generally double the daily limit.
Read these three too: prawn and shrimp are open in 23,123 right now, limit 125; the seasonal window changes, check the pulse schedule; bivalves are closed in 23-1 and 23-2 (below); halibut max 112 cm head-on and annual limit 10; only one of quillback / china / tiger rockfish may be kept, and no yelloweye.

Shellfish + the named gaps (small-craft warning, river)
Bivalves (clams, oysters, mussels, scallops, geoduck): 23-1 and 23-2 closed to all bivalve species, DFO biotoxin notice FN1129 (16 Oct 2026); elsewhere check the SHELLI map (link below). One shellfish line, not a full list.
Small-craft warning: read EC's marine forecast (link below); wording is theirs, changes through the day. River: for fall salmon, Somass and Stamp flow and water temp matter; EC's real-time gauge (link below) has them but will not answer my plain request, so I will not print a number I cannot read. Both named, never guessed.
New in-season notices — NAMED GAP
The Fishery Notice System will not answer a plain URL, and the true "out of the blue" notices land there. I will not scrape it blind and tell you you are legal. Check https://notices.dfo-mpo.gc.ca/fns-sap/index-eng.cfm by email signup or by hand before you go.
